Wed Mar 3: Earth and Animal Liberation Prisoner Letter Writing Night

March letter writing night – Green Scared? Green is the New Red
Date:         Wednesday, 03 March 2010
Time:         6:30pm
Location:         6th Ave. United Church of Christ (6th and Adams)

*with information table and speaker!*

In February, Denver ABC began hosting themed letter writing nights, beginning with prisoners of ICE and immigrant political prisoners.

This month, we’ll focus on prisoners of the Green Scare. Since around 2004, animal and earth liberation fighters have been branded as “terrorists” by the State and many warriors of the Animal Liberation Front
(ALF) and Earth Liberation Front (ELF), as well as above-ground activists, have been rounded up and imprisoned.

In Iowa, anarchist Carrie Feldman is being held in jail for no charge other than her refusal to testify to a grand jury that has been convened to investigate a 2004 ALF action. Marie Mason, an anarchist mother who was recently sentenced to 22 years in prison for an ELF arson, is being denied vegan food. And BJ Viehl recently became the first person ever sentenced under the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act (AETA)–sentenced to two years for a mink liberation in Utah.

We’ll be writing to these prisoners and others (the comrades who arsoned the Vail ski resort, torched SUVs in Cherry Creek, and made messes of some further-away properties) all at the Wednesday, March 3rd letter night!

The fight to free all animals and the Earth is the fight to free ourselves–from prisons, from capitalism, from social control.

Envelopes, prisoner addresses and information, postage, childcare, educational information, and a FREE SPAGHETTI DINNER will all be provided!
Just bring your self and your friends!
