Sekou Kambui Paroled!

sekou   This morning, after forty years in the hands of the State, New Afrikan political prisoner Sekou Kambui has been paroled! Given the provision that Sekou finds an approved halfway house and transition program, he will be released from Bibb County Correctional in a few weeks.

We want to thank everyone who signed the petition, called the parole board, and especially Sekou’s tireless supporters in Alabama, Houston, and elsewhere.

Free all Political Prisoners and Prisoners of War!

The Philadelphia DA Is Holding The Move 9 Hostage.

From MOVE 9 Parole:

Seth Williams

For close to one year now we have been focused on exposing the Pennsylvania Parole Board’s illegal and unjust parole denials of The Move 9. We have exposed the police and their role in the influence of the parole denials and have also exposed the role of Both Randy Feathers and Lloyd White two former police officers who now sit on The Pennsylvania Parole Board and over the parole hearings of The Move 9.

The one aspect that has yet to be exposed until now is that is the role of The Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams. Since taking office in 2010 Seth Williams for a period of four years 2010-2014 has given negative parole recommendations to The Pa Parole Board regarding parole for The Move 9. Seth Williams in fact stated that this would be a blatant disregard for The law if The Move 9 was to be paroled.

First of all Seth Williams knows nothing about this case he was only eleven years
old when The Move 9 was arrested on 8/8/78. On every parole denial of The Move
over the past four years their has been a negative recommendation made by Seth Williams. Seth Williams like past District Attorney’s of Philadelphia Lynn Abraham, and Edward Rendell has only one thing in mind and that’s to keep innocent Move people in jail.

This has nothing to do with Justice cause if Seth Williams was concerned about Justice then these murderous ass police that walks the streets of Philadelphia murdering Blacks, Latino’s, and Poor Whites would be brought to justice. This fool is nothing more than a mere tool being used by this government and The Fraternal Order Of Police nothing more than a pawn to keep Move people locked up in prison.

Prison officials who are around Move People on a daily basis have for years now recommended Move people for parole. These are wardens and Counsellors that know and have worked with The Move 9 for thirty six years have their recommendation ‘s consistently disregarded by a man who once again was only eleven years old on 8/8/78 when The Move 9 was arrested and his word is strongly taken into effect .

This man who is sending our children, Black, Latino, and Poor Whites to prison at a alarming rate and letting brutal and killer cops walk the streets with immunity, now has the influence to play a determining factor in these parole hearings. District Attorney’s across the country are working side by side with Law Enforcement Officials and Parole Boards to re sentence our Political Prisoners to life in prison.

The Move 9, Herman Bell, Ruchell Magee, Sundiata Acoli have all received negative recommendations from District Attorney’s for parole at their respective hearings. Seth Williams went as far as running for District Attorney of Philadelphia on a campaign of having Mumia Abu Jamal executed if he made office. This shows the kind of Maniac that we are dealing with and the danger that is in this Legalized Gangster .

Post Release: Support Brendon Valdez!

Hey Comrades,

Brendon Valdez, a young anarchist prisoner and parent currently incarcerated in a Seward, Alaska maximum security prison, will be released in 40 days and needs our support.

Brendon became radicalized indirectly through association with me, Coyote Sheff, while I was still incarcerated in Ely State Prison in Nevada, and directly through my previous partner, Linda Honey, whom Brendon now calls Nana.

On May 7th , 2014, 16 prisoners on Brendon’s unit went on a complete food strike. For reasons unknown, Brendon has been accused of initiating the “uprising”, and on May 8th he was taken in shackles to seg with no written explanation and no paperwork outlining disciplinary proceedings. Brendon is now denied personal property, use of the phone or showers, etc. Throughout this incident he has not been violent, demanding, or made a disturbance of any kind.

On April 7th, 2014 Brendon’s seven year old daughter, Samantha, experienced a traumatic brain injury that has reduced her to life support with 6% brain activity. As California is the best place for Samantha to receive medical care suited to her needs, Brendon will relocate to California post-release. He will need financial support, emotional support, housing assistance, and lasting connections with anarchists on the outs, especially anarchist parents who may be able to understand the anguish of this moment in his parenting journey.

Letters of encouragement and support can be sent to the following address (just please remember that Brendon will be released in July):

“Hi, I was calling with regards to the upcoming parole hearing for Sekou Kambui, also known as William Turk, inmate number 113058A. I am calling to request that Sekou be granted parole. He has served over 40 years for a crime that no evidence ever conclusively linked him to. In fact, many of those who testified against him have since come forward stating they were coerced to do so. This is a great injustice and Sekou should be allowed to live the rest of his days in peace. Again, please grant parole to Sekou. This may be his last chance. Thank you.”

UPDATE: Sekou Kambui Facing Continued Retaliation

6cd907912712ef62de2c70384a413b1d    Sekou Cinque T. M. Kambui, after having his cell ransacked, has been written up by Bibb County officials on  an alleged contraband violation. For this he faces at least forty-five days in a disciplinary unit (it is unclear whether this is SHU or some other high-security wing of Bibb County Correctional). He cannot receive visitors for the next 145 days, meaning of course that he will be lacking crucial support before and after his parole hearing. This is simply the latest in a long list of retaliatory actions taken against Sekou for his political activity behind bars, and reflects a history of transfers, write-ups, and mail-tampering preceding upcoming parole dates.

This ploy to silence Sekou at a crucial moment in his fight to be free is nothing new, but it must be met with resistance. For now, Sekou simply requests continued support through the petition for his freedom and letters to the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles. The link to the online petition is below. Freedom to Sekou Kambui and all political prisoners!
