Call in for Byron Chubbuck (Oso Blanco)

Call-in today Wed 12/18!

Mid Atlantic Regional Office:

When you call & email let them know that Byron Shane Chubbuck
#07909-051 has a documented history of chronic, severe illness (Hep C, and
an undiagnosed mass that appeared in his liver a few months ago). His
several sick calls have been ignored, despite constant and debilitating
leg, side and back pain. He needs a proper ultrasound of the tumor, and
ongoing medical attention.

He is currently in SHU (Administrative Segregation/Solitary Confinement)
because a drawing of a Cherokee burial mound was found in his cell, and he
was accused by guards of having an “escape tool.” We demand he be released
from SHU, and the charges dismissed. He was not trying to escape, and SHU
is no place for a sick prisoner.

Let the MA regional office know that USP Lee has been denying Byron Shane Chubbuck #07909-051 medical attention.  They are ignoring his sick calls and a chronic liver illness patient should not be in administrative segregation. We demand that USP Lee get him the medical attention he needs, and stop harassing this sick prisoner.

Byron Shane Chubbuck is a wolf clan Cherokee/Choctaw raised in New Mexico,
his Indian name is Oso Blanco and he became known by the authorities as
“Robin the Hood” after the FBI and local gang unit APD officers learned
that Oso Blanco was robbing banks to send thousands of dollars with of
supplies to the Zapatista Rebels of Chiapas on a regular basis during 1998
and 1999.

Chubbuck is serving 80 years for bank robbery, aggravated assault on the
FBI, escape and firearms charges. Byron engaged federal agents in a gun
battle on August 13th 1999 at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Although Chubbuck escaped, he was arrested later that day and sentenced to
time in New Mexico’s state Penitentiary. After serving just over a year in
New Mexico, he escaped from a prison transport van and almost immediately
began robbing banks. He was recaptured a short time later. Byron never
used a gun in any bank robbery, but he has a long history of living by the
gun and will not hesitate to use it on the agents of repression or the
occupiers of Aztlan whom force false laws on the true people of this land.

Quote from Oso “I am still able to hold my head up high and feel the
gratification for my work in a world where money, power and destructive
industries are regarded far above humanity, indigenous and impoverished
peoples and cultures. I cannot help that I got deeply into my work….”

  1. Reblogged this on Moorbey'z Blog.

  2. Around 9:45 EST . .. . .

    Email: LEE/
    Phone: 276-546-0150
    Fax: 276-546-9115

–Operator wouldn’t patch me through to warden. Was on hold for LaLonde but was then told he was down in the basement at the range. I asked if there was someone else from his unit team I could speak to. Operator suggested case manager. I said that would be great. Then I was told she wasn’t in today so I left my message with the operator who was nice enough.

Mid-Atlantic Regional Office: Ask to speak with Ike Eichenlaub
    or whoever oversees Lee USP
    Mid Atlantic Regional Office Info:
    Email: MXRO/
    Phone: 301-317-3100 Fax: 301-317-3119

    — Tried to reach Eichenlaub through phone tree and spelling last name but it didn’t work. Got receptionist and was told Eichenlaub is not in his office. Asked about USP Lee. I was asked what the call is regarding (I think they are organized by department- not by facility) and I said discipline and medical so she transferred me to medical. Got a woman’s voice mail and left a detailed message centering it around the medical concern but also mentioning about why he is in SHU.

  3. Keep calling everyone! There are lots of calls flooding in, according to the operators themselves.
I have to call back LEE USP as she wouldn’t let me talk to anyone, said they were busy.
Left a message with Simms (medical stuff) at regional but will call back soon to bring up how Oso has been harassed since arriving to facility to someone else.
    Great job, keep it going!

  4. left a message with facilities management voicemail at the mid atlantic regional offices.

spoke to counselor lalonde and told him that oso had not been getting the medical attention he needs after placing many sick calls, and that i was requesting that he be taken out of shu and be seen by medical staff. he said okay and hung up on me.

  5. just called the regional offices again, left a message with ms. hine (sp?) she oversees the health services. asked her to please make sure oso receives the medical care that he’s requested and that has been ignored…

  6. Just called:

At Lee: Ms. Willis (THE Ms. Willis of the recent sexual harassment complaint) answered. Said he will remain in the hole until the disciplinary process is complete (he is seen by hearing officer, who supposedly does his rounds every Friday; she says Oso probably on the docket this week if not last week, but no guarantees of anything). Said she can’t give any info unless we write a letter, at which point Oso can authorize in writing the answering of questions posed in the letter (“release of information”). I asked if she was THE Ms. WIllis of the sexual harassment complaint, she said gruffly that she can’t give out that info… Said I could call back for Counselor Lalonde, but he wouldn’t tell me anything she did not…

At MXRO: Left a message with facilities management option on the menu (ext. 4). Someone named Leah Aminsky(?) was on the VM when I called again for the in reference to an inmate thing. Left another message.

Called Lee again, asking for Medical. Spoke Ms. Crowe(?) on Medical staff. No record of him having chronic liver ailments, or placing sick calls(!!!)… The nurse makes the SHU rounds 6:30am every morning, he can let them know, she says, or provide sick call slip through institutional mail to the officers. I asked what is to be done if the pigs are fucking with him / not relaying his communications, etc., she said he should use the inmate email system to contact the warden, or file a BP-8…

Groan… I will call Lee again, asking for Lalonde soon…

  7. Fuck Lalonde…

Called MXRO to formally complain about him (I accessed the department listing by pressing “2”, then Correctional Services by pressing “3” – – that would be the department to pursue regarding his harassment, as I was told by the receptionist at MXRO who “wants to handle the most urgent concern first” which is the medical… Alas.

    Have fun with Lalonde…

PS: The receptionist told me I was the 8th caller to MXRO – – shouldn’t we have gotten a lot more by this time? Hopefully folk are emailing…

  8. Can also email these places:
    General inmate concerns:
    Regional BOP: MXRO/
    Lee USP: LEE/

  9. Spoke with LaLonde and as said above TOTAL A-HOLE. He said he spoke with Chubbuck for an hour and a half to day to clear all this up – that he’s fine, no health problems. That I was keeping him from “helping”. I asked why would he say he had pain then? Why would people call-in? He said “i don’t know”. Asked him who to speak with since obviously had no empathy and would not address the situation in any way. He said write the warden a letter. I said who can I speak with now. He said no one. Agreed on above should file complaints on LaLonde himself…

Called regional – NO ONE PICKED UP PHONE haha! Will call back and if no answer will follow prompts listed above to leave message….
Sent emails to all of the above.

  10. just got a call back from miss hine. she said that eventhough she can not discuss his medical status with me over the phone, that she did call the facility and that they’re going to pull him out of shu today for a sick call. she said that there were no requests shown in his records since he’s been at lee. i reassured her that he had been making them, and she made excuses for the guards/medical staff there, but assured me that he would be seen today.

  11. No one will pick up at regional. Left message….
